  1. Is this facility only utilized for weddings?
No, we welcome all types of events at the KTN Ballroom. We have had homecoming dances, pageants, concerts, fundraising dinners, trade shows, dinner shows, seminars and much more! Typically the same room rental fee is administered.
  2. How much does it cost to rent the KTN Ballroom?
Prices vary depending on the date and number of guests. Room rental fees and details can be found under ‘Wedding Packages'.
  3. Does the KTN Ballroom have multiple ballrooms?
No, it is one large room and cannot be partitioned off due to the high ceilings. However, there is a separate buffet room that is used for your buffet display.
  4. What is the capacity of the KTN Ballroom?
The ballroom can hold up to 446 people. Any event with less than 75 guests should reconsider the venue, for the room can appear empty with only 8 - 10 tables.
  5. Can I have a wedding reception and ceremony at the KTN Ballroom?
Yes, you can have both a wedding reception and ceremony with the following options:

    Option 1) Traditional Ceremony

If you prefer a traditional type of ceremony where rows of chairs are aligned in a pew-like fashion, you must have the ballroom ‘flipped' after the ceremony is complete. Flipping the room can take 45 – 60 minutes to complete the transition from a ceremony set up to a reception set up. The flip costs an additional $500 for this service.

Typically, during the flip, guests are escorted outdoors to our newly renovated mingling area where guests will enjoy refreshments or cocktails next to a water garden. If there are weather constraints, guests can enjoy refreshments or cocktails indoor in our lobby.

The bridal party can take advantage of this time to take photographs on the stage while the ballroom is being flipped.

    Option 2) Reception Style Ceremony
The ceremony is set up similar to that of a traditional ceremony, but the guests are sitting at tables in their reception seats rather than in rows. All chairs at the tables are turned toward the front of the ballroom to face where the ceremony is taking place. All tables are set up with centerpieces and linen napkins. Dinner plates and place settings are typically set after the ceremony or in the buffet room.

Most brides decide on a reception-style ceremony to avoid extra costs and save time. Approximately 70% of the wedding ceremonies are done in this fashion.
  6. If I have a ceremony, is there an additional cost?
With either option listed above, there will be a $500 ceremony fee. This ceremony fee includes time for rehearsal and 3 hours of time allotted to the ceremony and ceremony preparations (photographs, makeup, hair, etc.)
  7. Can I just have a wedding ceremony?
No, you must have the reception at the KTN Ballroom in order to have a ceremony.
  8. Can we prepare or set up the ballroom in advance?
All clients and caterers will have 3 hours before the event start time to set up. If the ballroom is not used immediately before your event, you may be able to come 2 – 3 days in advance to set up. This is strictly on a case-by-case basis and it is not guaranteed.
  9. I want to serve ethnic food and want to be able to bring in my own caterer. Is this allowed?
If the preferred caterers do not accommodate a type of cuisine, then special arrangements could be made on a case-by-case basis. KTN Ballroom will contact the preferred caterers to ensure that this cuisine cannot be accommodated. If approved, any potential outside caterers must have a catering business license, food permit and insurance.
  10. Can I supply my own cocktails, beer and wine for the reception?
Yes, if the event is a private, invitation-only event and all guests are over the age 21. A licensed bartender must serve drinks and a security officer must be present if alcohol is present. All alcohol must be purchased from a retail establishment (not wholesale or distributor) and the sales receipt must be presented to the KTN Ballroom representative to be kept on file for Gwinnett County and the City of Duluth. Per regulations, Gwinnett County and the City of Duluth will be notified of your event. Alcohol cannot be sold at private, invitation-only events.
  11. Can alcohol be sold at our event?
If you are hosting a special event such as a sporting event or dinner concert, there are special stipulations you must follow in order to sell alcohol at the KTN Ballroom. You must have an alcohol and restaurant/catering license and receive a one-day alcohol permit from the City of Duluth. Typically this applies if you are hosting an event open to the public. (I.e. World Cup Sports Event, Dinner Concert)
  12. When do I have to order centerpieces, chair covers and other optional items?
You can either order these items when the contract is signed or you can order them up to 30 days before your event. Remember that your ballroom layout is due two weeks before your event date.
  13. Can I book the room two years in advance?
We only accept contracts one year in advance to accommodate for possible price fluctuation.
